Your Role and Responsibilities

  • As a Technical Writer (Information developer)/ Editor, you will be responsible for writing, editing, and publishing high-quality documentation for Products on IBM z Systems.
  • Decipher technical documents for IBM Z Systems and associated Software and be able to write procedures and documents required for client reference.
  • Gather inputs from development/engineers, document the features/defects , Release notes and publish documentation in IBM Documentation.
  • Use IBM guidelines, correct grammar and style guide and document accordingly.
  • Work with developers to ensure document accuracy.
  • Review written technical documents for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, content, and style. Make any necessary corrections to technical documents.
  • Ensuring that all written content meets IBM standards.
  • Developing, communicating and adhering to goals for content, workflow, and the aim of writing.
  • Work on automation where possible and think of process improvements.
  • Work end-to-end on release cycles from analysis of requirements up to publishing content.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, leads, developers, quality engineers, project managers, and usability experts to document our products and make our product easier to use.
  • Write technical documentation for developers including concept documents, how-to guides, and API reference documents.
  • Design and organise documentation sets for new features.
  • Rewrite and reorganise existing documentation to improve the customer experience.
  • Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills.
  • Manage documentation projects and take responsibility for the quality of documentation


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience,
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to decipher technical documents and write from a user perspective.
  • Ability to undersatnd new features from developers and write a documents on same explaining the fetaures in a manner easily understood and usable by Customers.
  • Ability to pick up tools and knowledge in the ever-changing environment quickly and able to deliver as per schedule with quality.
  • Proven experience as a technical writer / Editor and in working with a variety of style guides.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Documentation Development Life Cycle knowledge.
  • Technical documentation knowledge using various tools, Git, and GitHub.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation

  • Knowledge about Cloud technologies and emerging trends
  • Knowledge about Virtualisation concepts and understanding of Linux
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentatio
