Job Description

The Leader of US Health Benefits Design & Strategy job role requires a deep understanding and significant awareness of the U.S. insurance vendor marketplace, plan designs and health care quality and cost factors, and knowledge of health care reform. This role will also focus on the development of health benefit strategy, policy, eligibility, vendor selection/renewals and integration with health promotion initiatives. In addition it will include the development and writing of various employee communications and engagement strategies. Other actions of this leader include leadership, preparation for and attendance at executive meetings, working closely with and communicating new plans, plan design or policy changes to the Benefits Operations and Services Team. This role has responsibility for the design of IBM US employee and retiree health and welfare benefits programs. Benefits professionals engaged in the design of IBM's employee benefits programs will have primary responsibility for determining the rules and features of the IBM plans and benchmarking the plans against those of IBM's competitors. In addition, this job role requires frequent teaming with other IBM functions on matters involving legal compliance, employee relations, employee communications. This leader will need strong skills in creativity, innovative thinking, subject matter expertise, detail orientation, self direction, Multi-taking and project planning/management.

  • Master's Degree in Business Management
