Job Description
Looking for an experienced Software Architect focused and passioned about Security to join the product development team to the IBM Cloud Brokerage product suite as a hands-on Security Architect responsible for defining, overseeing and coordinating all the security related activities of the product from architecture to design, implementation and testing.

Responsibilities of the role:
  • Responsible (highest escalation point) for all the security related details of the software applications that are part of the Cloud Brokerage product
  • Work with all the other product architects to analyze, design and include the security related info in all the product's architecture and design documents and diagrams
  • Work with the system owners of multiple services to identify, guide and address the security related issues in the design and the implementation of the product
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring for all the team members on security related best practices
  • Provide leadership and guidance (advice and assist) in the resolution of critical security incidents of the product
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance teams to identify and implement the best ways to validate the security compliance.
  • Other product architecture related duties as needed.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with software development and architecture with a minimum of 10 years total experience in the industry with deep understanding of the software development concepts and technologies
  • Minimum 3-4 years strong and hands-on experience in software security related to: Web, Standard/Compliance, Firewall, encryption, network and monitoring
  • Strong development skills for software design/engineering with various programming languages (like Python, NodeJS, Javascript, Web App development)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with building RESTfull APIs and best security practices related to their implementation,
  • Working experience with software applications built on the micro-services architecture
  • Experience with NoSQL database servers, JSON schemas and related technologies (MongoDB, CouchDB)
  • Exposure and understanding of general cloud concepts and technologies (AWS, Azure, VMware)
  • Experience with methodologies for software development and delivery, like Agile, SCRUM and similar

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Knowledge of various security related technologies and techniques (like encryption, hashing, PKI, vulnerability assessment, Kerberos, DLP, NAC, SIEM, and others)
  • Concepts familiarity and experience with web apps security: HTTPS, certificates, web proxy, OWASP, SANS-CIS security controls, web servers, Javascript attacks
  • Knowledge of security related best practices for various programming languages (especially Python, Javascript/TypeScript, NodeJS)
  • Experience with the micro-services architecture, software containers and related technologies (Docker containers, Docker Compose, Kubernetes)
  • Practical working experience with cloud computing technologies (like VMware) and APIs for public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure and/or Softlayer
  • IT security certification like CISSP, CISA or similar
  • Has or able to obtain a federal security clearance
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges to both engineers and business roles
