Job Description
IBM® Security Guardium is a comprehensive data security platform that provides a full range of capabilities – from discovery and classification of sensitive data to vulnerability assessment to data and file activity monitoring to masking, encryption, blocking, alerting and quarantining to protect sensitive data.

Guardium helps secure sensitive data across a full range of environments – from databases to big data, cloud, file systems and more. Guardium also provides automated analysis to quickly uncover internal and external risks to sensitive data. The solution also easily adapts to changes in your IT environment – whether that includes adding new users, requiring more scalability, or adding new technologies.

We are looking for a Software developer who is an expert in Linux systems with experience in programming or scripting languages.

Responsibilities include:

Engineering solutions for the Guardium Linux Platform.
The overall Architecture of the Gaurdium Linux Platform.
The inter-process communication for all of the Guardium Platform services.
Engineering and maintaining the Linux platform network stack.
Managing the filesystem and filesystem partitioning.
The overall performance and scalability of the Linux platform.
The installation of the Guardium product and it's services and all the configurations on the platform.
Maintaining RHEL versions, patched, security updates, etc.
Managing Customer escalations for the Platform.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • In depth knowledge of the Linux Operating System and Linux internals (10+ years)
  • Deep knowledge of C/C++, Java (5-10 years)
  • Deep knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Python, Bash) (10+ years)
  • Outstanding Network skills (including various protocols, stack, firewalling, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of SCCS systems and branching, merging and commit concepts


Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent Software Engineering Skills including architect and design, implementation and unit testing (10+ years)
  • experience in the Agile SCRUM software development methodology (2-5 years)
  • Outstanding troubleshooting experience
  • Familiar with Agile tools (JIRA, RTC, Version 1, etc.)
  • Strong Communication and presentation skills
  • Strong inter-personal skills and is efficient and positive in a team setting
  • Strong Technology and Team leadership skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
