The Events Lead
  • Creates event experiences that differentiate IBM and allows direct buyer connections to Subject Matter Experts
  • Manages customer events collaborating with Market Managers and aligned by Product Portfolio Marketing Team(s). In charge of end-to-end events from planning, execution, lead management and learning.
  • The role requires a strong understanding of the demand generation campaign process from planning to tactic execution with a specific focus on events.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met for on-time in-market delivery of campaigns. Ensure all planning information is complete to enable tracking of results. Review campaign results and recommends adjustments. Adhere to the marketing process, business controls and demonstrate proper application of the marketing tools. Maintain flexibility to respond to business stresses and gaps while keeping program execution on course.
  • Ensure events are surrounded by digital and social tactics to drive buyer engagement before, during and after the event
  • Establish event attendance drive-to strategies and follow up plans for all attendees with digital e-nurture and telephone lead generation that is integrated with other outbound tactics planned for the campaign for IBM-led and third party events
  • Measure and analyze performance. Ensure event is an integrated part of the campaign
  • Understands new channels such as mobile applications and their integration into the event experience
  • Engages and effectively manage appropriate event agencies. Develop a statement of work (SOW) that reflects IBM’s business needs and priorities. Contributes to the agency evaluation process.
  • Work on end to end campaign planning, management, execution and results analysis
  • Define, plan & execute tactics in accordance with the given budget to achieve defined targets
  • Assist the team with planning requirements; provide recommendations by leveraging global assets or best practices
  • Build business cases and ensure response lead management is in place
  • Monitor and measure campaign performance, take any corrective actions when necessary
  • Provide campaign learnings and recommendations for better enablement and execution
  • Interact with internal and external teams
  • Interface with necessary worldwide and Geo focal points, program owners around tactic planning & execution
  • Interlock with digital specialists to utilize social media platforms to better promote our campaigns, which involve communities creation, designing messages, understand target audience & conducting live promotional activities
  • Interlock with communication and enablement specialist to coordinate all required tactics
  • Implement marketing tools and business controls requirements
  • Execute end to end any necessary deployment in tools – as per the IBM Global Event Process
  • Communicate efficiently with appropriated content to audience
  • Provide some announcement of activities and some project status report
  • Prepare presentation for marketing leaders and executives
  • Contribute actively in internal meetings as conference calls
This role is located in IBM offices in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

Must have the ability to work in the US without current/future need for IBM sponsorship.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years in marketing field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of event management including Customer Event Process and end-to-end Marketing Tools
  • Strong leadership and communications skills
