As a Community Events Manager, in this role, your primary responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:
  • Build and execute an exceptional experience at community events, including Security Board of Advisors(BOA), Resilient CAB and user group strategy.
  • Execute BOA and CAB event logistics including venue selection, group travel accommodations, catering, special event selection leveraging associated IBM. (EST, CTEBA, MFR Budget, American Express Group Travel, etc.)
  • Establish and manage Community Events budget to maximize return on marketing investment by optimizing efforts through iteration and experimentation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including the Community Digital Marketing Manager & Geos to develop content, messaging and surround sound elements and GEO teams when coordinating key community initiatives for their regions.
  • Analyze event leads and follow-up programs, constantly testing new ways to drive more leads and more conversions.
  • Provide actionable information and insights on key community events to influence event strategy moving forward. Plus first-hand experience to recommend direction through to execution (ours and competition). High touch with building relationships with clients.
  • Work with Offering Management and Product Marketing to support the voice of the Customer and testimonial efforts.
  • Reports to CMO IBM Resilient with matrix alignment to IBM Security events program lead.
  • Travel involved for geo events. (ballpark 25%)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Professional, driven and personable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills required, familiarity with CRM systems
  • Ability to think creatively and outside the box
  • Ability to multi-task on several projects

Based in Cambridge, MA

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Knowledge of sales/marketing experiences a plus
