IBM Watson uses Cognitive Computing to tackle some of humanity's most challenging problems - like revolutionizing how doctors research cancer or transforming how businesses engage with their customers. We have an exciting opportunity for a Cancer Genomics Architect to join our highly visible Watson for Genomics team, responsible for building genomic solutions using the Watson technology.

Interested candidates should have hands-on experience working in a personalized medicine company before, understand the whole process end-to-end and have a good understanding of the industry and the market. He/she needs to demonstrate good communication skills in a cross-functional team and be able to translate and prioritize the requests to the actual implementations.

On the technical side, the person needs to be proficient in at least one scripting language and one object-oriented language. People with strong software development skills are highly desired. The candidate must have demonstrated capacity to adapt to demanding and high-pressure projects and adaptability to client’s needs.

This role combines demonstrated industry experience as well as the ability to apply advanced analytics and concepts to address and solution complex challenges facing senior executives in the healthcare industry today.

As an IBM Watson for Genomics - Cancer Genomics Architect will:

Work directly with the team enhancing Watson for Genomics solution using genomic analytics. You will help define, design, and build those enhancements. You will be a genomic specialist for IBM Watson and need to work with the expert physicians from key cancer research and treatment centers. You will need to interpret and articulate requirements and feedback from clients to the leadership and development team, helping to prioritize and create solutions roadmaps.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cancer genomics
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Bioinformatics
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Data Sciences
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience Leading disperse and diverse teams
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience Client facing
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Software engineering
  • Excellent communication skills
  • English, fluent


Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cancer genomics
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Bioinformatics
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Data Sciences
