Join the leader in tape storage, providing innovative products and solutions for customers across many diverse industries and usage environments.
Collaborate with a team that continues to drive the market in data storage technology and has for the last 50+ years through development of tape storage products.
As a Software Test Specialist, work with and/or develop technologies to advance the capabilities of tape products in the area of programming - using C/C++, scripting, and through both Object Oriented and Agile methods.
Key activities include code design, development and functional verification test of firmware on a Linux based Operating System focusing on embedded programming, communication protocols, host application software support, and user-interfaces.

Responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing of firmware design documents and designing test cases to test the specified function with quality being the focus.
  • Creating automated test cases to run overnight to stress the system and analyzing, debugging, and documenting issues as they are found.
  • Finding and opening firmware defects to address the issues discovered and following up on verifying the fixed defects.
  • The ability to articulate status on variation or test case execution and priority of the issues involved.
  • The ability to demonstrate great teamwork and communication across countries, as team members are located worldwide.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in programming in C/C++ and scripting.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in programming in C/C++ and scripting.
  • 1+ years of experience working with tape storage.
  • Experience in Linux.
