IBM Monroe has an immediate opening for an SQL Application Development Specialist. Our clients are some of the world’s leading companies, the successful candidate will be part of challenging and rewarding projects to build and support technical solutions to meet their business needs. As an SQL Application Development Specialist you will be expected to provide development, support and delivery services for complex client applications. This role requires a broad knowledge to develop, troubleshoot and resolve issues, work cross team to develop and implement solutions and provide technical support and consultation. Job Responsibilities may include:
  • Developing code and supporting billing system conversion
  • Applying systems analysis techniques to assess business needs
  • Designs, codes, tests, implements, and maintains complex business application systems and programs.
  • Identifies and recommends system enhancements to improve or expand customer services by anticipating customer problems and recommending solutions.
  • Provide project, team or technical leadership as required.
The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our Monroe center. However, some travel is expected and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday thru Friday). You are expected to travel approximately 50% of the time. This is a traditional office position. You must live in, or be willing to relocate to, LOUISIANA. The work location is 150 Venable Lane, Monroe LA 71203. This is not a work from home position.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5 years of progressively responsible data processing experience
  • 4 years of SQL Development experience
  • Experience with analyzing, designing, refining, and maintaining information processing systems in a large or multiple applications environment
  • Experience with development life cycles and project management techniques
  • Experience using structured analysis, modeling or documentation techiques.
  • Effective communications, interpersonal, and analysis skills.
  • Project leadership knowledge and experience.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • 5 years of SQL Development experience
  • 3 Years of C and/or MicroFocus COBOL development.
  • Prior experience with billing system data migration a plus
