IBM Monroe has an opportunity for an experienced Enterprise Web Application Developer. This opportunity is for someone experienced in full-stack development GUI, Web App Server, Web Services, Back-end Processes, SQL DB layer, Cron, 3rd Party integration, External interfaces etc.

You will join a team of innovative developers supporting a wide range of Custom Applications, OS platforms, Integration Tools, Web Frameworks, Databases and Business needs of our client. This currently encompasses several hundred applications supporting critical client needs. For these applications you will be challenged to work with our client to design, build, develop, deliver and support technical solutions that meets their business needs.

This position will provide an opportunity for you to grow your career in all aspects of software development and maintenance. Such as Business Client Communication, Requirements, Design, Development, Maintenance, Support and opportunity to be Innovative and bring leading edge ideas and IBM technical strengths to the client, such as Cognitive, Mobile, Big Data and Cloud Computing.

As an Application Developer on a large range of application technologies you will be expected to have a wide range of experience and take on challenging project work designing, building, testing and supporting technical solutions.


The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our Monroe center. However, some travel is expected and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday thru Friday). You are expected to travel approximately 50% of the time. This is a traditional office position. You must live in, or be willing to relocate to, LOUISIANA. The work location is 150 Venable Lane, Monroe LA 71203. This is not a work from home position.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5 years - Professional Experience in IT
  • 5 years – Communication, Documentation, Requirements and Task Management
  • 3 years – Java Web Site Development such as: JSP, Struts, Servlets, Classes, EJBs
  • 2 years – Web Servers such as: WebLogic or Jboss
  • 2 years – Front end development such as: HTML, Javascript, AJAX or JSON
  • 2 years – Embedded Java Database tools such as: Hibernate, JDBC etc.
  • 1 year – Oracle PLSQL and SQL development
  • 1 year – Solid handle on Linux/Unix commands


Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • 7 years - Professional Experience in IT
  • In addition to the Required skills, 2 or more years of experience in the following is preferred:
    • - Perl or other scripting tools
    • - MS SQLServer
    • - Apache configuration
    • - Websphere
    • - Tibco
    • - MQ message Hub
    • - MS IIS
    • - Open Systems development (Unix, HPUX, Linux, AIX)
    • - ESRI or other GPS tools
    • - Experience in FTP, Cron, Shell Scripts etc.
    • - SQL, C and C++
