IBM's State of Florida - Department of Children and Families project is looking for energetic, motivated, and high functioning early professionals to supplement the existing delivery team. This engagement will last between from 3 to 12 months and applicants will be expected to maintain regular hours, part-time (20+ hours per week) or full-time (40 hours per week) as determined by the project management after discussion with selected applicants. Selected Applicants for this position will participate in one of the four functional areas across the project. Selected individuals will be evaluated and recommended a team fitting the experience and exposure levels for each selected applicant. Individual interests will be taken into account in order to maximize interest and growth for the individuals and the project. The available teams are as seen below:

Functional Team – This team is comprised of Business Analysts who translate technical specifications to Functional requirements easily understood by end users and vise versa. Applicants interested in this should be have an understanding of technical writing with a base understanding of or willingness to learn technical jargon.

Technical Team – This team is comprised of Application Developers responsible for making updates and creating new source code for the application as outlined in the documents created by the Functional Team. Of the four teams available on the project, interning for this team will require the most up-front knowledge and ability. The project develops primarily in Java with usage of SQL as needed.

QA Testing Team – This team is comprised of manual and automated Test Specialists responsible for validating the developed code against System Documentation and requirements. Applicants must have strong logical reason skills and troubleshooting knowledge

Project Management Office – This team is comprised of Project Management resources responsible for managing the overall successful delivery of project deliverables and ensuring the compliance of the project with all relevant policies and constraints.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Strong Analysis and reasoning skills
Ability to execute tasks with minimal direction
Strong affinity for processes, both Technical and Functional

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

Working knowledge of Applicatio Development languages
Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
