Job Description
IBM Research is seeking a candidate with a background in Microwave Engineering with application to Quantum Computing.

Candidate should have proven experience in modeling and simulating complex structures operating in the microwave frequency regime, and will work on a team to develop circuits for Quantum Computing experiments. Expertise with electromagnetic modeling tools, such as HFSS, Keysight ADS, Microwave Office, or other microwave simulation tools is required. Working knowledge of cryogenic low noise measurement and amplifier physics as they pertain to quantum computing is also required. Ability to employ general engineering principles including problem solving, planning and design. Candidate must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision, as well as work collaboratively and effectively on a team and must possess demonstrated communication skills.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Familiarity with HFSS, Keysight ADS, Microwave Office or similar software-1 year
  • Familiarity with amplifier and device physics. - 2 years
  • Experience with cryogenic and low noise measurements. - 2 years.
  • Independent engineering, project management and teamwork skills. - 2 years
  • Ability to gain and maintain an appropriate security clearance

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Modeling of qubit systems
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • English-Fluent
  • Mechanical design skills
