The Watson Commerce team is at the forefront of driving IBM's mission around becoming a SaaS forward company. This team is enhancing IBM’s position with line of business professionals who are increasingly at the forefront of technology buying decisions.This role is responsible for growing the key Merchandising Persona area to a point where IBM gains ownership of "Merchandising Out”. This position will have overall accountability for Offering Management of On premise, SaaS eCommerce and Merchandising (working with HCL) solutions. This is a growth segment and expected to almost double in size globally by 2019.

The Director of Watson Commerce OmniChannel Commerce Solutions will report to the VP of Offering Management for Watson Commerce. This leader will modernize and expand the pricing and promotion portion of the portfolio. The Director will work closely with peers responsible for the new "Insights" layer, the DX/Content Management layer and in the Watson Marketing segment as "Complete Solutions" are leveraged as an IBM differentiator. Successfully expanding the business by going down market, beyond retail and further penetrating markets outside the U.S. and U.K is essential. The selected candidate requires strong leadership skills to drive key initiatives (modularization, move to modern technology, usability and design, etc.), deliver innovative differentiating features and drive cross IBM alignment and selling to expand business opportunities. This leader will also be accountable for attracting, developing, and retaining the best talent for the projects in the division, ensuring that those on the team have upward potential.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Market understanding - trends, competitive and pain points/needs
  • Significant business and people management leadership skills to drive and expand the Selling and Fulfillment Segment
  • Client facing expertise to drive additional revenue and support retainment of base
  • Skill and knowledge of offering
  • Backlog Management and Sprint Planning
  • Experience working with NPS and other Instrumentation tools
  • Product life cycle management including trials, contracts, deployment, adoption, renewal
