Summary & Purpose

The Data Curation Architect will report to Manager, Data Integration and Acquisition. The Data Curation Architect is responsible for enabling system integrations between the IBM Watson Health Value Based Care (VBC) product suite and our client’s Practice Management Systems, Hospital Information Systems, Electronic Medical Records Systems, Claims Data and/or Data Warehouse(s) throughout the United States. This person will ideally sit in Cleveland, but can also be located in Dallas, TX.

Duties
  • Successfully bridge the gap between business and technology, manage client resources, drive technical solutions to timely completion, and identify, analyze, and extract key data from heterogeneous systems;
    • Lead technical requirements gathering, data discovery, documentation, and implementation of assigned client integrations
    • Lead technical delivery of assigned client integrations which may include, but is not limited to:
      • Ordering, installation and configuration of required hardware, including VPN devices to support client integrations
      • Configuration and development of software necessary to support client integrations
      • Extract, Translate, Load, and Validate client data for assigned client integrations
  • Support remediation of data issues discovered during system User Acceptance Testing or post go-live
  • Support the development of processes, procedures and IBM’s data acquisition platform and associated infrastructure, focused on reducing customer implementation cycle time and eliminating opportunities for deployment defects
  • Support the development of IBM’s portfolio of customer connectivity solutions
  • Conduct data triage activities to identify issues and report on the “health of the data” during onboarding of new data sources
  • Understand the needs of the business in order to ensure data supports client requirements
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of data integration experience preferably within the healthcare industry
  • SQL experience, including complex join statements
  • Programming experience in at least one development environment (Python, Ruby, etc.)
  • Exposure to big data technologies (Pig, Hive, Impala, HDFS, HBase, etc.)
  • Data analysis experience
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment, with Project Managers, Analytics experts and Clinical teams
  • Ability to research and solve system and data integration issues
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be located or willing to relocate to Cleveland, Ohio or Dallas Texas
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum of two years of data integration experience preferably within the healthcare industry
  • SQL experience, including complex join statements
  • Programming experience in at least one development environment (Python, Ruby, etc.)
  • Exposure to big data technologies (Pig, Hive, Impala, HDFS, HBase, etc.)
  • Data analysis experience
