Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM Client Innovation Centre (CIC): Nova Scotia occupies a unique position in the IT marketplace – at the intersection of business and technology.
In this role, you’ll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
As a member of our team, you will help IBM clients solve some of their most challenging business problems, capitalize on market opportunities and achieve real value in today’s tough economy.

Candidates must:
- Have graduated no earlier than 2022, and will be graduating no later than 2024
- Have an Associate’s Degree, College Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree by date of employment
- Exception: This program does not accept MBA or PhD candidates/graduates
- Have no more than 2 years of full-time professional related work experience
- Be eligible to work in Canada without current or future needs for visa sponsorship
- Be willing and able to live and work in Nova Scotia, with minimal travel anticipated
PeopleSoft is an Oracle ERP system with a focus on HR, payroll and accounting modules. Candidates interested in Oracle PeopleSoft MUST be eligible for Federal Government security clearance & MUST be available for shift work and on call support work in order to serve IBM’s keystone Government client. PeopleSoft has opportunities in both technical and functional roles.
Technical career path(s) include:
Junior PeopleSoft/Oracle Developer Roles & Responsibilities:
- Your main duties will be providing application support and ERP Software Development
- You will support & resolve application incidents & defects on Oracle/PeopleSoft ERP applications
- You will be responsible for installation and technical configuration of the PeopleSoft ERP system and databases in multiple environments
- You will troubleshoot any database and application performance issue
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- You have the ability to work in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code and test innovative applications, and support those applications for our highly valued customers
- •You are great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues
- You have experience coding and using databases
- You have basic knowledge or hands on coding experience in one or more of the following technology areas: SQL, C++, C, Java, JavaScript, Angular, React, Python, ASP .NET
- You have basic knowledge or hands on experience using one or more of the following frameworks/libraries: Spring/Spring Boot, Angular, React
- You have an excellent understanding of the software development life cycle and software testing
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Must be eligible for clearance and have lived in Canada for 5 – 10 years
