Your Role and Responsibilities
- System Administration: administering and Managing mainframe operating systems, such as IBM z/OS, ensuring they run efficiently and securely.
- Software Installation and Configuration: Installing, configuring, and maintaining software applications and utilities on the mainframe system, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
- System Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks or areas for improvement, and implementing optimizations to enhance overall efficiency and reliability.
- Security Management: Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect the mainframe system from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
- Backup and Recovery: Developing and implementing backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity during system failures or disasters.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues and system errors, independently or in collaboration with other IT personnel or vendors.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Several years of experience as a Mainframe System Administrator on Operating Systems such as z/OS.
- Responsible, independent, organized, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English, Hebrew).
- Highly motivated team player, ready to collaborate with others to get things done.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- BSc/MSc in computer science/engineering.
- Growth mindset, strive to learn new things and gain experience.
