As an Event Opportunity Strategist, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and leveraging potential event opportunities to support our growth and objectives. You will play a key role in developing and executing strategic plans to maximize event plan and our presence at events that align with our business goals and target audience.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Event Opportunity Strategist, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and leveraging potential event opportunities to support our growth and objectives. You will play a key role in developing and executing strategic plans to maximize event plan and our presence at events that align with our business goals and target audience.
Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive research to identify relevant industry events, conferences, trade shows, and other opportunities.
- Analyze event profiles, attendee demographics, and market trends to evaluate potential ROI and strategic fit.
- Analyze past event performance based on data analysis to which events we return to and in what capacity.
- Opportunity Assessment:
- Evaluate event opportunities based on criteria such as audience reach, alignment with brand values, potential partnerships, and competitive landscape.
- Assess the feasibility and potential impact of participating in each event.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop a strategic roadmap for event participation, outlining objectives, target outcomes, and resource requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align event strategies with broader marketing, sales, and business development goals.
- Partnership Development:
- Identify and cultivate relationships with event organizers, sponsors, and industry stakeholders.
- Negotiate terms of participation, sponsorship opportunities, and promotional activities.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of event strategies.
- Monitor and analyze post-event data to assess ROI and identify areas for improvement.
- Innovation and Adaptation:
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in event marketing.
- Continuously refine strategies based on feedback and insights to optimize future event initiatives.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a proactive mindset, capable of identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to enhance brand visibility and business growth through effective event strategies. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver, team player, and results-driven professional.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Four years or more experience in marketing or related role
- Two years or more experience in event marketing
- Ability to think strategically and to manage resources (time and budget) to achieve objectives
- Guides functional objectives or technologies, provides leadership
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Strong project management and organizational skills, including attention to detail
- High energy, independent worker, self-starter, resourceful, and problem-solver
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, managing resources and several projects simultaneously
- Provides advice and guidance to other professionals
- Passionate about developing client advocates around IBM’s product portfolio.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Master’s degree in a related field, preferred
- Experience with event and/or marketing platforms including Rainfocus, CVENT, Airtable, Marketo, etc. preferred
