Senior UX Design Lead for Security
Introduction
At IBM, work is more than a job – it’s a calling: To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you’ve never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world’s most challenging problems? If so, lets talk.
Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Security is looking for a UX Design Leader who has a passion for leading and designing user experiences that people love. IBM Security helps the people who are responsible for securing and protecting our personal data and important business data from cyber criminals. We are a global team with collaboration at the heart of our success. As part of the larger Security design team you will inspire, mentor and lead excellence in craft for our global team. You will help enforce high quality standards for our products and for our customers.
As a UX Design Lead you lead by example. You will lead designers as well as product managers, architects, and development leaders from idea to user outcome. Each sprint you will advocate for your users’ needs and push your product team to innovate and deliver minimal valuable experiences that exceed user expectations. We need a hands-on design leader who is interested in shaping the future by defining strategies and leading the creation of end-to-end customer experiences. We need someone passionate about learning who will go deep into the subject matter and understand the intricacies of the cybersecurity problems plaguing the industry.
The preferred applicant will have 3–5 years of relevant experience leading a small design team and/or designing the user experience for a product from ideation to delivery. They will have experience with adapting their design process without compromising on quality as they partner with Product Managers, Architects and Development Managers. They should be able to guide their team and be proactive in planning for design, UX, and research needs. They should be adept at presenting and communicating their thinking/work to senior leaders. They should be able to break-down ambiguous asks and translate features into clear user experience outcomes. They should have a wide variety of artifacts in their portfolio that show how they solve problems from low to high fidelity. They should also have a good understanding of how their work has impacted business results.
