Designer: User Experience Design
In this role, you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your Role and Responsibilities
- As a Senior Designer, you work on professional projects and mentor less experienced designers. You’ll directly manage priorities and methods for execution. You understand design goals as they relate to project mission, brand, and IBM. Accountable for exploration and execution at the project level.
- Begin to lead the implementation and facilitation of client workshops and participating in client-facing presentations. Actively participate and learn to direct others in working with clients.
- Work independently to deliver innovative user experiences and market outcomes through individual contributions and multidisciplinary collaboration. Impart skills and best practices across the designer’s team and studio.
- Active participation and contributions to design associations and communities. Participate and co-facilitate studio events and programs. Mentor junior teammates and give skill-based training sessions.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking, problem framing, problem solving, and craft skills. Facilitate workshops and confidently applies IBM Design Thinking techniques. Understand the software development lifecycle. Independently write user stories and issues, participate in agile practices, and (where applicable) contribute to the software delivery workflow.
- Practice and encourage cross-functional team collaboration. Seek new responsibilities proactively, and show maturity and diplomacy. Learn effective project management techniques in addition to individual design work.
- Initiate design-focused groups and meetups. Begin to accumulate enough experiences to be sought after to provide their perspectives in their craft. Gaining experience of giving external presentations.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Lead UX design for moderately complex projects. Work on entire projects and/or moderate to difficult individual tasks.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Design Process, Interaction Design and Graphic Design fundamentals.
- Hands on designer adept in user empathy, research, analytics, collaboration, quick prototyping and storytelling.

- Resilience under pressure and against deadlines.
- Self-starting attitude and an open outlook.
- Awareness of current trends in business, design and technology.
