Your Role and Responsibilities
DB2 Administrator are the gatekeepers to the many systems that run our company and our clients. As a Storage & Backup lead with IBM, you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of our business by ensuring integrity of, and access to, our most important resource data. You will need to visit the domestic client’s offices / data centres on a daily basis or on an as-needed basis as part of this role.

- Installation and Configuration of IBM DB2 LUW on Linux Environments.
- Offer DBA DB2 support for application and development team.
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting of DB2 Database
- Perform Health check activities, monitoring, backup, space management, Maintenance i.e. Reorg / Run stat utilities
- Ensure integrity, availability and performance of DB2 database systems by providing technical support and maintenance.
- Experience with configuring and usage of Clustering, db2diag and notification logs, snapshot and event monitor
- Setup and maintenance of Data replication services using HADR.
- Ready to work on 24/7 shifts to support client requirement.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- DB2 node directory / catalogue configuration
- Monitor database performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
- Assist in capacity planning, space management and data maintenance activities for database system.
- Perform database recovery and backup tasks on daily and weekly basis.
- Develop and maintain patches for database environments.
- Maintain database security and disaster recovery procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of multiple databases.
- Monitor databases regularly to check for any errors such as existing locks and failed updates.
- Oversee utilization of data and log files.
- Manage database logins and permissions for users.
- 24*7 on call support for DB2 portfolio and applications
- Willingness to work in nights shifts or support 24 x 7 Coverage as per the Business needs
