Your Role and Responsibilities

You will participate in many aspects of the software development lifecycle, such as design, code implementation, testing, and support. You will work to create software that is of high quality and meets our clients’ needs. You will also have the opportunity to become a contributor within Open Source communities across multiple disciplines.
In your role, you will be supported by mentors and coaches who will encourage you to challenge the norm, investigate ideas outside of your role, and come up with creative solutions resulting in ground-breaking impact for the wider business, our external clients, & their customers. As a Backend Developer you will:
- Knowledge working with client-server architectures, networking protocols, application development, and using databases.
- Create Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that are clean, well-documented, and easy to use.
- Develop UI using technologies like React and JavaScript
- Design and code micro services working with other micro services, databases and cloud services. The implementation must be reusable, scalable, high available and meet critical
architecture goals. - Have an understanding of, or experience with, Agile development methodology.
- Create and configure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. Design and implement large scale systems and Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) that enable continuous delivery.
- Highly motivated and have a passion for creating and supporting great products.
- Thrive on collaboration, working side by side with people of all backgrounds and disciplines, and you have very strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing, and implementing solutions to complex technical issues.
- Have a basic understanding of software development and programming languages.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- College graduate in computer or related science
- Willing to relocate to RTP area
- Must have basic knowledge in two or more of the following technology areas: Golang, JavaScript, Node, Bash, Terraform, Python, JSON, YMAL
- Knowledge working with servers, applications and databases and UI
- Familiarity with APIs
- Basic knowledge of operating systems and how they work (i.e. Operating systems courses); Container technologies; Internet Services; and/or Managed Services
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- 3 months experience in one or more of the following technology areas: Golang, Node, Java
- 3 months experience with APIs and or UI
