Introduction
A Technology Sales Engineer role (what we internally call a, ‘Brand Technical Specialist’) within IBM zStack will make you a key enabler to how our clients are building modern, hybrid cloud solutions, and modernizing their applications whilst embedding AI into all transactions and operations. Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Brand Technical Specialist, you’ll work closely with clients to develop relationships, understand their needs, earn their trust and show them how IBM’s industry leading solutions will solve their problems whilst delivering value to their business.

  • Strategic Mainframe Solutions: Crafting client strategies for mainframe infrastructure and applications.

  • Comprehensive zStack Solutions: Defining and detailing IBM zStack solutions for client enhancement.

  • Effective Client Education: Delivering simplified proof of concepts and educating clients.

  • Building Trust for Cloud Deals: Building trust for closing complex Cloud technology deals.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Effective Communication and Relationship-Building Expertise: Successful communication and relationship-building in enterprise environments.
  • Pre-sales Expertise: At least three years experience in technical pre-sales, sales engineering, or consulting roles to scope and demo solutions to clients.
  • Technical Proficiency: Technical skills in machine learning, AI and data governance technologies
  • Technical Experience: Mainframe (z/OS, Linux on System z)
  • Technical Proficiency Knowledge of Db2 Analytic Accelerator, Data Replication, Federation/ Data Virtualization
  • Language Skills: Fluent English
  • DB2 Knowledge
  • IMS Knowledge


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Pre-sales Expertise: At least 5 years in a sales, pre-sales role or similar client facing role.
  • Technical Proficiency: At least 5 years’ experience in Knowledge of Db2 Analytic Accelerator, Data Replication, Federation/ Data Virtualization.
  • Technical Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in Mainframe (z/OS, Linux on System z)
