Your Role and Responsibilities

The IBM Client Innovation Center in Lansing, MI is looking to hire an experienced DevOps Engineer to help support our clients with automating builds, regression testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across multiple environments. In this fast-paced and expanding organization, we foster an environment of continuous innovation and working on agile teams. Qualified candidates will be responsible for development of solutions by working with product managers, scrum masters, architects, developers and business stake holders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creation and enhancement of Continuous Integration automation across multiple platforms using Jenkins and/or VSTFS and/or Bamboo
  • Creation and Enhancement of Continuous Deployment automation built on Docker and Kubernetes

Successful candidates for this position will work on-site at the IBM Client Innovation Center in Lansing, MI. The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from the Lansing center. However, some travel is expected, and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday through Friday). You are expected to travel up to 50% of the time. This is a traditional office position. You must live in, or be willing to relocate to, Michigan. The work location is Lansing, MI. This is not a work from home position.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 3 years of experience in the following areas:

  • Automated build and deployments (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Implementing Quality Gates and test automation with continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Complex multi-stage pipelines that achieve true CICD from Development to Production
  • Experience in Container based environments such as Docker and Kubernetes
