Your Role and Responsibilities
A career in IBM Software means you’ll be part of a team that transforms our customers challenges into solutions. You will be part of the IBM Db2® Analytics Accelerator and Data Gate team. IBM Db2® Analytics Accelerator is a high-performance component tightly integrated with Db2 for z/OS. It provides a hybrid transaction and analytic processing (HTAP) environment and delivers high-speed processing for complex Db2 queries to support business-critical reporting and analytic workloads. Whereas Data Gate making mainframe Databases available to Cloud Applications.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for upgrading and maintaining the infrastructure required for product development, testing and production environments.
Responsibilities:
- Deploying products in Mainframe – z/OS and Unix with fair knowledge on scripting.
- Installing and upgrade of Db2 Stored procedures, analyse and tune queries
- Change/define Workload Manager (WLM) rules/definitions, IPL procedures in LPARs
- Upgrade TCPIP and TTLS rules
- Be a hands-on person and involved in product installation/ configurations, troubleshooting (performance, 3rd party integrations, security)
- Work for smooth delivery of assigned projects.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic development environment
- Close collaboration with other teams, technical support teams and business stakeholders
- Get things done – think outside the box and find creative solutions to tough technical problems.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5-8 years’ experience
- Deploying products in Mainframe – z/OS and Unix with fair knowledge on scripting.
- Installing and upgrade of Db2 Stored procedures, analyse and tune queries
- Change/define Workload Manager (WLM) rules/definitions, IPL procedures in LPARs
- Upgrade TCPIP and TTLS rules
- Working knowledge understanding of TCP/IP and network protocols.
- Identify and recommend improvements that can be made to continuously evolve and improve.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good team motivator and strong relationship building skills.
- Open to Cross Time Zone Collaboration
- Ability to use conference and collaboration tools effectively
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Insatiable curiosity about how things work and a desire for continuous improvement
- Ability to understand complex distributed systems.
- Understanding of hardware-based software solutions.
