Your Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking an engineer to join the System & Design Technology Co–Optimization (STCO & DTCO) team within the IBM Semiconductor Technology Research Organization in Albany, NY.

As a member of the DTCO Research team, you will be a contributor to state–of-the–art logic technology development including process assumptions, technology definitions, and power–performance–area (PPA) bench marking for the world’s most advanced semiconductor technologies. Close and frequent co–operation with development engineers will be required. Strong communication skills are necessary for this dynamic team environment.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Advanced CMOS device, logic std cell and SRAM architecture design – At least three (3+) years of experience
  • Familiar with semiconductor technology process, ground–rule, lithography/patterning engineering and optical proximity correction – At least three (3+) years of experience
  • Understanding of technology Power–Performance–Area (PPA) benchmarking – At least three (3+) years of experience
  • Knowledge in Process Design Kit (PDK), circuit design/simulation, layout, and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools – At least three (3+) years of experience
  • Ability to debug errors and solve problems
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills (English)


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with CMOS gate–all–around semiconductor technologies
  • Experience in defining semiconductor technology process assumptions
  • Logic circuit and block level PPA with industry EDA platform such as Cadence or Synopsys
  • Experience in lower power & high–performance circuit designs5.Experience in SRAM & SRAM periphery device
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Materials Science, or related areas

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
