Quantum – MSc/PhD Summer internship 2023 – Research

Your Role and Responsibilities
You will be part of a team whose mission is to prototype, test and release new technologies for the world to use. As an IBM Quantum summer intern, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary, global team of developers, designers, researchers, and engineers to bring new features to life. If you are self-motivated, curious and love to code, we have the right opportunity for you! We are now accepting applications for graduate level students to become IBM Quantum summer interns in 2023, and join the journey from the fundamental science of quantum information to quantum computing research and development. IBM Quantum summer interns will have the opportunity to work on experiments, theory and software development.

From contributing to the open-source Qiskit framework, to fundamental research in quantum computing, to helping people understand the relevance of quantum computing, IBM Quantum interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experiences essential for future professional opportunities as well as continued studies. IBM Quantum interns will have the opportunity to:
Learn how companies conduct quantum computing research
Work on meaningful problems in the field of quantum computing

• Receive mentorship from IBM researchers and others
• Collaborate with peers working in the field of quantum computing
• Get access to state-of-the-art quantum processors and devices at IBM
• Gain a broad experience in quantum research, from fundamental to applied
• Get exposure to the wide range of research happening at IBM
• Receive training on Qiskit and mentorship on contributing to open source

Our summer internship program offer you an opportunity to join our research team for 3 months internship (working 5 days a week) in either Haifa, Tel Aviv or Beer Sheva sites (according to each internship). During the internship, you will be working with our talented researcher on top projects, helping create the next generation of AI, security, quantum, cloud and much more.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience in a graduate or undergraduate program related to software engineering or computer science

• Coursework or projects related to quantum information, computation, or algorithms
• Software development experience in an area of study related to quantum computing, or other applicable area
