Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Quantum is an industry-first initiative to build universal quantum computers for business, engineering and science. This effort includes advancing the entire quantum computing technology stack and exploring applications to make quantum broadly usable and accessible. IBM Quantum is seeking a Data Center expert to work with quantum system deployment engineers, IBM Cloud Data Center experts and Real Estate professionals to design, build and manage data centers that will bring the future of computing to worldwide users. Quantum computing is the new frontier of computing and in concert with classical computing, it has the potential to solve some of the world’s intractable problems. Quantum Data Centers will build on what we’ve already learned from traditional data centers and integrate the new requirements of quantum system deployment to provide an unparalled experience for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a very good understanding of what it takes to design state of the art data centers and has experience with requirements, construction and operating data centers with availability and environmental impact in mind. You will work closely with engineering teams in other organizations within IBM and have the opportunity to learn about unique requirements for quantum data centers

This position can be located in Yorktown Heights or Poughkeepsie, NY.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical or a related technical field
  • 3-5 years experience in designing, building data centers
  • 5+ years experience in site facilities / infrastructure management
  • 3+ years experience managing complex projects
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in the organization and facilitating decision-making
  • Experience and ability to deliver in a time-constrained environment
  • Experience with project management tools


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Proven track record of designing and building state of the art data centers
  • Experience in deploying infrastructure for Cloud

The compensation range for this position is based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
