Your Role and Responsibilities

The product manager, of XaaS workloads and solutions offerings management will play critical role in driving the growth of the IBM Systems XaaS business. The offering leader in this position will partner with offerings leaders across Storage, Z-Systems, Power, TLS, competitive intelligence team, corporate strategy, cloud team, GTM including sales, partners to establish and execute the IBM as a service workloads and solutions roadmap enabling IBM to win in new as a service segment.
In this role, you will own product management activities in developing and delivering the XaaS workloads and solutions roadmaps in conjunction with other product leaders across IBM. You will be responsible for driving the strategy and roadmap for key investment areas & building the right solution for market lead portfolio per function. You will play a broad role including both inbound tasks (establishing workload and solutions proposals including business plans, defining strategic requirements, detailed requirement, design features, prioritization of backlog, etc) and outbound activities (creating marketing collateral, socializing product vision, enabling go to market teams and the like). The team will consist of technical product managers, product owners focused on XaaS workloads, and solutions.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Lead and drive the strategy for delivering outcome driven product/solutions in a portfolio.
• Work in close cooperation with the Product Management Executive team, other executives, peers and cross-functional colleagues to meet existing and evolving product and business objectives.
• Develop the value proposition, target customer segments, and business case model (market share, P&L, etc) to deliver innovative products to market for a product portfolio.
• Lead any required business and financial planning including working with IBM Finance to develop plans to meet financial objectives.
• Understand the market/customer needs and be able to develop roadmap for delivering differentiated capabilities. Provide direction to IBM Marketing to ensure effective messaging.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders (engineering, marketing, GTM, Sales) on the portfolio strategy and management from conception to delivery to the market. Work with the program management leads to execute and deliver on launches.
• Integrate Business Partners to scale business for portfolio.
• 5+ years upline management experience in SW development and/or product (offering) management.
• Experience with Agile Development and Design Thinking.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience speaking with and presenting to customers, both pre- and post-sales.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

At least two previous upline and/or EA roles
• MBA or advanced degree in computer science or Engineering
• Experience in XaaS “Everything as a service” model
• Foundational knowledge of data storage and data protection.
• Foundational knowledge of Power Systems
• Foundational knowledge of Zsystems
• Foundational knowledge of cloud computing and cloud services.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The sa
