Your Role and Responsibilities
We manage a large datacenter that provides hardware, network access, cooling and power for our private cloud offering. We are seeking a knowledgeable and capable datacenter technician to setup and maintain our infrastructure.
Your main responsibility as a datacenter technician will be physically installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, storage devices, networking equipment, and other hardware components. This includes unboxing, racking and stacking equipment, running cabling and setting up wiring, operating system installation, keeping an accurate inventory for security and compliance, monitoring cooling control system, environment and power management, responding to internal hardware requests and having good communication skills with our internal teams.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Applicant must be able to lift 25lbs and be physically in the datacenter five days a week.
1+ years experience working in a lab/datacenter environment.
1 year experience shell scripting
Understanding of datacenter cooling, power consumption, operating system installation and hardware troubleshooting.
Experience with racking and stacking systems, power and network cabling and equipment maintenance.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
3+ years experience working in a lab/datacenter environment.
Deep understanding of datacenter cooling systems, power efficiency and consumption reduction, operating system installation and hardware troubleshooting.
Experience with racking and stacking systems, power and network cabling and equipment maintenance.
