As a member of the Data & AI Hybrid Data Management Brand Technical Specialist Sales team, you understand the client’s business requirements, technical requirements, and the competitive landscape. You apply your business insights and your deep subject matter expertise, build and maintain client relationships, incorporate software and services into client-valued solutions and ensure client readiness for the implementation of technical solutions. Your Role and Responsibilities
Brand Technical Specialist are the technical experts and advisors to clients, IBM sales teams and IBM Business Partners. As a Brand Technical Specialist, you understand the client’s business requirements, technical requirements and competitive landscape. You also apply your business insights, build and maintain client relationships, incorporate software and services into client solutions and ensure client readiness for the implementation of technical solutions. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
• Actively develop and progress qualified client opportunities with the IBM Sales Team
• Apply your passion for Data Science and AI to guide clients on transformational journeys.
• Learn deep IBM product skills for IBM Data & AI solutions: watsonx, watsonx Assistants, IBM data governance, and IBM data fabric solutions.
• Deliver solution workshops, briefings, product demonstrations, technical education, proof of concepts while articulating business value.
• Develop deep technical account relationships.
• Act as a deep technical expert in sales opportunities.
• Leverage your strong communication skills by delivering compelling client-facing events, creating IBM AI brand awareness, building user communities, and responding to client requests for information.
• Collaborate with other internal IBM teams to help map IBM solutions to customer initiatives and long-term business strategy.
• Develop a deep understanding of the client’s industry, including financial, banking and insurance industry trends, and industry business processes.
• Collaborate with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- • Business Acumen: Ability to understand customer needs and business objectives. Experience in working closely with customers and translating their requirements into effective AI solutions.
• Capable of building business automation, digital labor solutions, customer care solutions and/or digital assistants using scripting languages and low code development.
• Exposure to Generative AI/LLM development and tuning techniques.
• Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python and experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face. Understanding in the usage of libraries such as SciKit Learn, Pandas, Matplotlib, etc. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Engage with stakeholders for analysis and implementation. Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with advancements in the field of AI.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Proven experience in designing and delivering AI solutions, with a focus on foundation models, large language models, or similar technologies. Experience in natural language processing (NLP) and text analytics is highly desirable.
• Solutioning Experience: Experience in solution architecture and design, translating business requirements into technical specifications, and developing scalable and robust AI solutions.
• Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Experience in a Technical Sales/Solution Consultant/Sales Engineer or client-facing role
• Experience with IBM Data Science solutions, watsonx Assistant, watsonx Discovery, watsonx.ai, watsonx.data, watsonx.governance, and watsonx code assistants.
• Familiarity with data lake, data fabric, Apache Iceberg, vector databases, object stores, non-SQL database concepts.
• Front-End Development experience.
• Experience with statistics/machine learning packages like TensorFlow, Pytorch, Scipy, Keras, Numpy, Pandas, or Spark MLlib.
• Experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face. Understanding in the usage of libraries such as SciKit Learn, Pandas, Matplotlib, etc. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services is a plus.
• Financial Services, Banking and Insurance experience.
