System Services Representatives are the primary technical interface to clients for the coordination of hardware and software support and delivery of operational services.  Sound pretty important?  Absolutely!  You will advise clients of preventive maintenance, configuration, operation and environmental factors which may drastically impact product performance or impair the client’s IT operation.

Your Role and Responsibilities
*This is an IBM Japan position.

We are looking for a Product Service Specialist to expand our Network Services business in TLS.

TLS (Technology Lifecycle Services) is the organization responsible for ensuring the stable operation of our customers’ large-scale IT systems, and we are looking for someone to lead the following activities to establish a network services organization and expand our business area from FY2023.

Job Description
1) Support services for network system design, construction, maintenance, and operation
2) Project lead for network system construction projects
3) Technical advisory services for stable operation of IT systems

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Business Description”
1) Maintenance, operation, and construction support services for next-generation network systems
2) Maintenance, operation, premium services and project management of IBM products and third-party product systems
3)Technical advisory services for stable operation of IT systems

Required Skills and Experience
1) Network Specialist
Skills in maintenance and operation of modern networks.
 - Experience as a network engineer (5+ years).
 - Standard knowledge/qualifications in network/virtualization technologies
 - Data center network design and construction skills.
 - Network design/construction skills using virtualization technologies such as SDN, SD-WAN, etc.
Technical skills to deal with network problems
 - Experience and skills in problem isolation, recovery method study, and implementation
Communication skills (e.g., conducting appropriate research and responding to questions from customers)

2) System Service Specialist
HW and SW maintenance skills for IBM products or other IT manufacturer’s system products.
Experience in IT system maintenance management and system operation in a large-scale Data Center.
The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with external parties (i.e., answer customer questions, handle complaints, etc.).
Experience as a project manager or team leader for system infrastructure projects.

3) Technical Advisory
TAM (Technical Account Manager) or technical advisory or consulting experience in IT maintenance business.
4) Communication skills (ability to build good relationships with customers)


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Preferred Skills/Experience
Experience in network operation/monitoring design and construction
CISCO CCIE or CCNP certification
Juniper Professional Level or higher certification
Vmware VCP-NV certification
English – TOEIC 730 or higher and good communication skills in English
Experience leading a team in a project
 - Leadership experience in system construction projects
IoT, 5G, Edge computing skills 
Experience in managing and maintaining large scale IT systems
Strong electrical skills (Chief Electrical Engineer certification, etc.)
