Your Role and Responsibilities
The Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) Admin L3 is responsible for managing and maintaining the OpenShift Container Platform environment. This role includes performing advanced troubleshooting, implementing best practices, and ensuring high availability and performance of the OCP clusters. The he/she will also be involved in designing, deploying, and supporting containerized applications in a hybrid cloud environment.
Responsibilities:
Cluster Management:
- Install, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters. Perform regular upgrades and patching of OCP environments. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of OCP clusters. Responsible for the complete end-to-end project management, installation, re-installation, configuration, re-configuration, implementation, integration, monitoring, patch management, VA/PT closure and troubleshooting.
- Ready to work on 24/7 shifts to support client requirement.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Support & Troubleshooting:
Provide L3 support for incidents and problems related to OpenShift.
Troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with other teams to resolve platform-related issues.
Performance & Optimization:
Monitor and optimize the performance of OCP clusters.
Implement best practices for resource allocation and management.
Conduct capacity planning and scaling of OCP environments.
Security & Compliance:
Implement security policies and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Manage access controls and authentication mechanisms.
Automation & Scripting:
Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks and deployments.
Utilize tools like Ansible, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines for automation.
Ensure infrastructure as code (IaC) practices are followed.
Documentation & Training:
Create and maintain detailed documentation of the OCP environment and processes.
Provide training and mentorship to junior administrators and other team members.
Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and technical workshops.
Ready to work on 24/7 shifts to support client requirement.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- BE / B. Tech Computer Science, MCA or Equivalent / higher Qualification
- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations.
- 3+ years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of Linux administration, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.
- Understanding of network configurations, load balancing, and firewall management.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or equivalent certification.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
