Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a skilled Active Directory Support Engineer with in-depth knowledge of AD services and related technologies. The ideal candidate will provide Level 2 support, troubleshooting, and administration for the organization’s Active Directory infrastructure. This role involves managing user access, monitoring system health, and ensuring the availability and security of the AD environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 2 support for Active Directory (AD) issues, including user account management, group policies, DNS, DHCP, and replication issues.
  • Perform day-to-day administration of AD services, including user and group management, password resets, and permissions.
  • Assist in the implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Active Directory services in a multi-site environment.
  • Monitor AD infrastructure health and proactively resolve issues related to AD, DNS, and related services.
  • Assist in AD migrations, upgrades, and patching activities to ensure the environment is secure and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with L3 and other IT teams to escalate and resolve more complex AD and server issues.
  • Monitor AD logs, troubleshoot system errors, and apply corrective measures as needed.
  • Assist with Active Directory Disaster Recovery plans, ensuring data backup and restore procedures are in place.
  • Ensure proper AD security, including managing access controls, and auditing user activities.
  • Provide regular updates and documentation of AD infrastructure, including system configurations and procedures.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Proven experience in Active Directory administration and support
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, including DNS, DHCP and LDAP.
  • Experience in troubleshooting AD issues, replication problems, and managing domain controllers.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell and other scripting tools to automate AD tasks.
  • Experience with AD backup and disaster recovery methods.
  • Understanding of DNS, DHCP, and other network services as they relate to Active Directory.
  • Experience with AD migrations, including domain consolidation and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of security practices in AD, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), RBAC, and AD auditing.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD) and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services), AD Connect, and SAML authentication protocols.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to system management.
