Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Within the service centre, the COBOL and MAINFRAME teams are made up of around a hundred people organised into human-sized teams. This organisation allows for multiple career development within projects (technical, functional and managerial).
In the medium term, our training schemes allow for developments towards other technologies. Our services are carried out on the Lille site, offering opportunities to work in direct contact with our clients throughout France.
As a Cobol Developer, you will participate in all stages of the project:
- Application development (RDZ environment under Eclipse),
- Design and implementation of unit tests,
- Participation in integration tests and recipes for developed applications.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Undergoing training in computer science
- Good interpersonal skills: important quality in a team
- Good writing skills
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Fluency in spoken & written English to communicate with other IBM service centres in Europe
- Spirit of synthesis and logic
- Comfortable with complex algorithmic subjects
