Your Role and Responsibilities
This job position is for IBM Japan.

IBM Research is extending research and development especially in technology areas related to AI because it has great possibilities of solving difficult and/or new problems that have not been solved and of creating innovative services that have not been even dreamed of.
Current focus areas in AI include pioneering work in: large language model, natural language processing, speech recognition, AI for code, automated data analytics, time-series data analysis and visual inspection.
Period:3 months (can be negotiated)
Time:9:00~17:36 (default)
Reduced working hours can be negotiated.
Place: Hakozaki (Tokyo)
Daily Salary:
18,000yen (for master’s)」/20,000yen (for doctoral students)」(in case housing allowance is unnecessary)
24,000yen (for master’s)」/26,000yen (for doctoral students)」(including housing allowance)
Daily commuting cost will be paid. Transportation cost to come to Tokyo is *not* separately paid.

For foreign residents coming to Japan to participate in our internship, please apply at least 4 months prior to the desired start date in order to prepare for the VISA. In addition, the internship period must be at least 3 months. (This does not apply to foreign students living in Japan.)
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Skill set and knowledge:
Basic computer programming skill and knowledge, basic English language capability to understand technical documents written in English and to have simple conversations in English. Besides, knowledge and skills in the areas mentioned in Job Description depending on the area of internship.
Language:
* English communication skills for emails and conference calls is mandatory.
* Understanding and interests on different cultures are desirable.

Experience:
Fundamental experience of computer programming.
