Your Role and Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end authoring process: Design, develop, edit, produce, translate, and manage the lifecycle of technical content.
- Propose and execute content development and user experience strategy: Work closely with stakeholders such as Product Owners, Engineering, Marketing, and Design to understand business problems, goals, and desired outcomes.
- Evaluate content requests: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address content needs effectively.
- Design, develop, and publish IBM technical content: Create content such as tech notes, blogs, product documentation, and multimedia that is easy to use, understand, and find. This may also include guided tours and training materials.
- Simplify complex AI concepts: Translate technically complex AI concepts into consumable content that drives user actions.
- Deliver clear, inclusive, accessible, and translated content: Ensure content is suitable for a global audience, adhering to content design practices.
- Research and design content based on user scenarios: Understand personas, deliver content for design iterations, develop and clarify UI terms, actively contribute to design reviews, and conduct user testing/research to validate content.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work directly with Design, Product Management, Development, Marketing, Support, Sales, and Training to tell a cohesive product story. Use expertise and user empathy to influence product design decisions and deliver the best user experiences.
- Maintain the publisher page: Ensure the page is up-to-date with relevant information and insights.
- Stay informed about AI industry trends: Understand the happenings in the AI industry to keep content relevant and cutting-edge.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 2+ years of experience as a technical writer for enterprise software.
- Command of U.S. English: Writing, curating, and editing content for accuracy, clarity, and usability.
- Modeling and formatting content: Transform content into viable, feasible, and desirable solutions.
- Proven experience simplifying complex content: Make AI concepts accessible to users.
- Research and study subjects: Inform content by understanding the context and subject matter.
- Define and apply consistent voice and tone: Maintain consistency throughout a content journey.
- Knowledge of markup languages: Familiarity with DITA XML, Markdown, HTML, and authoring tools like Oxygen.
- Experience with Content Management Systems.
- Experience documenting detailed technical content: Such as APIs and SDKs.
- Foundational understanding of UX design and design research.
- Proven communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Desired Additional Qualifications and Skills (“Nice to Have”)
- Experience working in an agile, squad-based, continuous delivery development model.
- Ability to work independently: Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to a dynamic, team-based environment.
- Experience with video creation software and digital adoption platforms: Such as Camtasia and Walk me.
- Degree in Writing, English, Journalism, Communication, Information Design, or related field, or a technical degree.
