Introduction

Our Infrastructure Specialists are responsible for keeping up with these latest and greatest of these changes and using their expertise to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our customers and products.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Specific Duties

  1. Ability to Install, Upgrade and Migration of z/OS, z/VM, CICS.
  2. Ability to conduct review and implementation of System Z changes related to z/OS, z/VM, CICS.
  3. Ability to perform fault analysis and resolution of System Z problems to z/OS, z/VM, CICS.
  4. Ability to perform z/OS System Programming for project implementation and resolution of System Z related problems.
  5. Ability to train and guide junior on z/OS System Programming and z/OS Operation.

Skill Competence requirements:

  1. Solid understanding of z/OS services structure, JES concepts, Sysplex configuration, Unix System Services, Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP, System Catalog structures, and IODF/HCD).
  2. Systems Programming experience in MVS or Z/OS with knowledge on:
  • SMP/E
  • DFSMS, DFHSM, IODF, IOCP
  • JCL, Catalog Maintenance
  • Z/OS Security (RACF)
  • Z/OS Networking (VTAM, TCPIP)
  • Z/OS Scheduling and Automation such as Control-M, TWS
  1. Added advantage with the following skill and system programming experience on:
  • SKLM disk encryption
  • Ability to Install, Upgrade and Migration Spectrum Control, Copy Service Manager
  • Ability to Install, Upgrade and Migration DB2, IMS
  • Ability to Install, Upgrade and Migration of MQ
  • Ability to Install, Upgrade and Migration Cobol


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  1. Minimum 10 years’ experience working with z/OS System Programming and z/OS Operation.
  2. Key technical person with hands on experience in (Install and Migrate) for Mainframe technology refresh activities, in relation to z/OS System Programming and z/OS Operation. Experience includes:
  • Installation and Migration from older generation to a later generation, such as from z10BC to z14, or from z13 to z15/z16.
  • System Programming in building IOCP, revising IODF, migrating zCrypto keys, OSA and Comm Server (VTAM, TCP/IP)
  1. Key technical person with hands on experience in (Install and Migrate) for Mainframe Storage technology refresh activities, in relation to z/OS System Programming and z/OS Operation. Experience includes:
  • Installation and Migration from non-IBM to IBM Storage (EMC to DS8xxx, FS95xx) and IBM to IBM Storage Migration (DS8xxx to DS8xxx or FS95xx)
  • System Programming activities such as IODF for storage (DS8k, vMAX, etc) mapping
  • Data migration for storage volumes using TDMF / PPRC / zDMF tools.
  • Spectrum Control skill and Copy Service Manager (CSM) paired replication.
  1. Key technical person with hands on experience in (Install and Migrate) for Mainframe backup infrastructure, in relation to z/OS System Programming and z/OS Operation. Experience includes:
  • Installation and Migration from non-IBM to IBM VE (DELL to TS77xx) and IBM to IBM Storage Migration (TS77xx to TS77xx).
  • System Programming activities such as IODF for VE, job copy or merge job from old to new volume, backup policies update, VE grid setup and configuration.
