You will apply your technical skills to find the balance between enabling and securing the client’s organization with the cognitive solutions that are making IBM the fastest growing enterprise security business in the world.
Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented L2 Active Directory Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, and troubleshooting of our Active Directory domain. You will work collaboratively with other IT professionals to ensure the smooth operation and security of our Active Directory environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions within Active Directory.
- Implement and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security settings and user configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Active Directory related issues, including authentication problems, replication issues, and permission errors.
- Monitor Active Directory health and performance using appropriate tools.
- Assist with the planning, implementation, and migration of Active Directory services.
- Participate in change management processes for Active Directory related activities.
- Document procedures and maintain accurate records of Active Directory configurations.
- Stay up to date on the latest Active Directory technologies and best practices.
- Support other IT teams with Active Directory related inquiries.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related IT support role.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory concepts, including user accounts, groups, permissions, GPOs, and replication.
- Experience with troubleshooting Active Directory issues.
- Proficiency with Windows Server operating systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A desire to learn and stay up to date on new technologies.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification in Active Directory.
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- Experience with Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) and Azure Active Directory (AAD) (a plus)
- Experience with DNS and DHCP (a plus).
