We are looking for Software Development and support Managers with cloud platform and systems-level experience to join our Fabric Development team in Bangalore. We seek individuals who innovate & share our passion for winning in the cloud marketplace. The Fabric Development team is a team dedicated to ensuring that the IBM Cloud is at the forefront of cloud technology, from bootstrapping data centers to application architecture to flexible infrastructure services. We are running IBM’s next generation cloud platform to deliver performance and predictability for our customers’ most demanding workloads, at global scale and with leadership efficiency, resiliency and security. Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will work as a first line Software Development Manager as part of the Fabric Development team with a focus on the following key responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers to meet release dates along with committed deliverables on-time and with quality,
- Plan and manage component design, coding and functional testing to drive quality of deliverables
- Balance priorities and work assignments across team members following agile processes to meet delivery schedules
- Interface with product management and offering managers to understand customer requirements and business prioritization, work with architects and technical leaders to build development plans
- Drive development activities, monitor progress, collaborate to align dependencies, remove blockers for team members and manage risks
- Interface to upline managers and executives to provide updates on status, decisions, and raise issues when needed
- People management of technical talents executing HR programs for employee acquisition, development, performance management and optimization, retention, and separation
- Candidates will manage local teams and work with development teams in USA and India.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 8+ years’ experience with people management including experience with HR systems and employee types: Full-time and contractors
- 8+ years’ experience running multiple teams or squads simultaneously.
- Experience managing technical employees
- Understanding of and experience project managing software development lifecycle, software test principles and execution, software test automation, agile development methodologies, scrum etc.
- Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
- Experience with Cloud security, data privacy and compliance requirements (FedRAMP, FS and SOC2)
- 10+ years software development
- Demonstrated technical competence on software lifecycle topics.
- Have a working knowledge of building automation to deploy infrastructure and exposure with CI/CD tools and continuous integration
- Exceptional verbal, written, and teaming skills, organizational abilities and demonstrated multi-tasking abilities.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with Cloud infrastructure: network (Forigate, Juniper) and gateways, VPC, IBM Cloud BM/VSI/OneCloud/ Security and compliance for regulated workloads, firmware, driver
- Experience with tools: Aha, GitHub, ServiceNow, Trello
- Experience with: CI/CD (Tekton pipelines preferred), Python/Django, Postgres, Java/Springboot
- Experience with BCDR, HA, SZR/MZR
- Experience with Redhat Linux and Openshift
- Experience with NetBox
- Experience with Message Queues (Kafka and RabbitMQ Preferred)
- Experience with workflow automation (Zeebe Preferred)
